2022 ASA Updated Coaches List and Missing Team Info - Please Check Carefully

Below is the updated list of coaches who have completed their requirements for background checks and coaches certification. Please check the list to see if your coaches are included. Please note, coaches under age 16 will not be listed in this list, due to limits on background checks for them. If you have any questions about this, please e mail at [email protected]. Please note some coaches have used a different name for the course and the check, so we are having to manually cross check those so there many be some missing names.

Attached you will find the updated coach list for the week ending 5/7.

Coaches Certification Completed List as of 5-9

If your coach has an X next to his or her name, he or she has completed the two requirements to be accepted to Summer League Swimming and is ready to go on deck!

If your coach is on the list does NOT have an X by the name, and the coach is 15 or under, it means that coach has completed the coach course with a passing grade, and has been accepted to SLS.

If your coach IS on the list does NOT have an X and is 16 or older, this means your coach has not yet completed the background check.

If your coach is not on the list, they have NOT completed membership requirements and will NOT be permitted to coach until the do so.

These coaches should not be on deck or working with swimmers until this has been remedied. Failure to meet this requirement will subject the coach and team to fines and further penalties.

We appreciate your patience. Because many coaches do not use the same name, We are having to manually cross check the lists with about 800 names. I do not know if "Tom Jones" and "Bob Jones" are the same swimmer or a swimmer and volunteer so I can not include them on the list until I confirm that they are the same person.

Also, any backgrounds checks being processed for updates do not make this list and will be included in the next list.

Missing Team Info - Check Carefully

A number of team's info pages on the ASA website are still NOT updated. This runs the range from not having any information for your team to missing bits of info like contact info for your reps, coaches, etc... to not having your pool depth listed (START END: TURN END:). Teams, referees and league officials depend on this information each year. Please take care of this missing information ASAP. Our season begins in a three weeks. It is crucial to have this in place going into the season. Details on how to view what is currently listed, as well as update that information are listed below. How To Update Your Team Info

Along those same lines, many of you have not yet updated your team information page. Please do so ASAP. This is how we stay in touch with each other and if your team's info is missing, you are doing a disservice to everyone. Please check your current team page at asa.swimtopia.com/asa-teams. Instructions on editing your team page are located at Team Info Page Editing Instructions

With our move to Swimtopia, we will be moving to using their communication tool, To ensure you and your coaches are in the loop they need to be in your team's list of people in your team's Swimtopia page, and they need to be designated as a Team Rep, Coach, or Computer Person for their role with the team.
