ASA Wishes You a Wonderful Rest of the Summer and Thanks You for a Terrific Swim Season and Looks Forward to 2027 (Dates Included)

    July 1, 2026

    Teams,

I hope you have all recovered from a great week of swimming at Georgia Tech. Congratulations to all of our teams and swimmers who competed in this weekend's championship meet. We had tons of really fast swimming and a lot of fun, we broke 6 records, who needs fireworks on the 4th, when we have swimmers like ours. I want to again thank all of our volunteers for their hard work. You are what make the event possible. Thank you again to Georgia Tech and their staff for providing us such a wonderful facility to host our meet. We are happy to have so many kids involved in our Championship. A huge thank you to our timing crew and Hy Tek operators for watching thousands upon thousands of touches and getting the times right with staggering accuracy, the entire staff of the Campus Recreation Center at Georgia Tech especially Davetta Lackey, Laura Liz Bryan, and Shea Wilkey as well as our head bullpen coordinators Sara Oberholzer, Emily Santowski Joanna Key, and our head meet referees Tim Storsteen, Josh Beck, and Chris Marshall and the voice of our meet Brian Robbins. I would be dead in the water without all of their exceptional work.

Congratulations to our Divisional Champions Venetian, Garden Hills, Gainsborough, Chastain, Fieldstone and Woodmont. Another tip of the cap to our 202 ASA Scholarship recipients, Keller Kazmi of Saddle Creek and Mary Matthews of Alpharetta. Congrats to all of our Thomas Benefield Coach of the Year Recipients, Claire Torres of Leafmore. Kelly Griendling of Smokerise, Traci Chu of Leslie Beach Club, Douglas Dumont of Hanover West, Jake Scott from Chastain, Joslyn Dodson and Sierra Wamsley of Aberdeen, Erin Schuler of Harmony Hammerheads and Rebecca Miller from Spring Ridge. Saving the best for last, congratulations to the Venetian Poolsharks for being recognized as our Sportsmanship Award winners.

It was a great summer, with a lot of fun, community and incredible improvement by all of our swimmers. What a great job by fans in the stands for this year's championship, all of the energy created by that atmosphere encouraged everyone to better performances I am certain. I am so proud of how well our coordinators and coaches run their teams. They bring a positive and supportive approach that youth sports needs. Kudos to each of you for another wonderful season and for all of your hard work and dedication Thanks to your efforts thousands of kids had an awesome summer swim season. Special recognition goes to Evan Nylander, he played a huge role in helping manage so many of the small and big details that went into what I consider one of our best ASA Championship meets yet, His involvement with ASA for over 20 years is a testament to his dedication to ASA and the sport of swimming. We are blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful and dedicated people.

    Importing Results

Please visit ASA Championship Landing Page for a full recap of the meet, including a backup of the meet for your Hy Tek software.

Since the meet is run using Hy Tek you CAN NOT import the results from Meet Maestro, doing so will import a blank results file for all teams in your session and overwrite existing results for every team in your session.

Please remember to bring your results into Swimtopia (not Meet Maestro) from this meet you can go to Schedule > Select Meet Name > Results > Import, click the “Choose File” button and select the appropriate export from your local drive for your selected meet, and then click on the "Choose File" button.

The full results and Hy Tek files you need for import are available at https://asa.swimtopia.com/championship .

For teams that marked their swimmers with SP5, sub7, AL8 or JC6 you may want to edit the athlete info in Team Manager AFTER your bring the results back in so you avoid duplicate swimmer info in your system. If you did the for any of your swimmers you MUST do the following:

1.Import the Meet Results file from the ASA website for your swimmers.

2.Go to the People menu of your Swimtopia site and select the athletes you marked with the state qualifying marker and select that athlete.

3.Remove the marker from the swimmer’s name AND preferred name if one is listed. Ex. AL8John Swimmer goes back to John Swimmer.

    4.Select save.

If you do not do this, it will create a duplicate record in your registration system and create extra work for your team next year. If you have any questions about this let me know, or contact Swimtopia.

    Missing or Incorrect Awards

If your team is missing any awards please let me know and I will get them to you as quickly as I can. If you notice awards for another team in your awards, please contact that team (ASA Team Contacts) has all of those team's info. to make arrangements to get them those awards. If you have any unpaid fees for your roster or for the ASA Championship, please mail them to ASA at 2395 Christophers Walk, Atlanta, GA 30327.

    2027 Dates

Believe it or not, I am already looking toward the 2027 season. We are looking at a first meet date of May 25 and 27. The championship will likely stick with our Wednesday to Friday schedule from June 23 – 25. With our championship divisional sessions being during the week for many teams, you may want to plan ahead for that last dual meet possibly being on a Monday or Tuesday to give you a day off before your divisional session. I wanted to get this to you as early as possible so you could plan ahead with your pool boards and HOA's.This calendar is not 100% final yet, but it seems to most logical layout given the way the calendar falls and when most schools will get out.

    ASA Championship Apparel

If you missed out getting your championship gear, the online shop will remain open for a couple weeks, with shipping directly to you.

Getting Ready for Next Year / Pool Equipment Needs

As teams wrap up the summer, many take inventory of needs, whether it is new lane lines or reels, blocks, flags or kickboards. Kiefer Aquatics is available to help, if you are looking to get a jump start on next year with any surplus or capital planning. https://kiefer.com/ Additionally, feel free to reach out to our local resources to discuss options and if any discounts may be available. Emma Loughry 770-400-9870 ([email protected]) or Amy Johnson ([email protected])

Again, I cannot thank you all enough for your continued dedication to the sport of swimming and your communities. It is thanks to your hard, and often thankless, work that your kids get to enjoy such wonderful programs. Enjoy the rest of your summer and some well deserved time off. As always if there is anything I can help you with, please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a happy Fourth of July and great rest of the summer.
