Week 4 News

And down the stretch we come. It feels like old times, a lot of great swimming, although it ws still sunny and hot. Teams be sure to take care of your meet workers with plenty of water during the meet, especially those folks who are tied to their jobs, like timers, place judges, deck managers, and certainly your refs. I hope everyone closes out on a high note next week with some dry weather and fast swimming. Please remember it is an absolute must that you e mail or phone in your meet score the minute your meet ends next week. We have to finalize dual meet trophies, and your meet score is a crucial part of that. Please check your team’s dual meet record and let me know if anything is amiss.

ASA Championship information will be updating in a fast and furious frenzy over the next 48 hours. First and foremost, be sure to get your entries in on time. They are due tomorrow, Friday, June 24 at 1 pm. Once I have all entries in I will publish, psych sheets, entry lists (that should be up by late tomorrow afternoon /early evening. From there I will follow with workers and warmup assignments, team seating, building entry times and a summary of your credentials. The will all be posted on the website https://asa.swimtopia.com/championship , please review the info and make sure you get your entries in on time. You will very likely grow tired of all the e mails you will get from me about the meet, but please read them, as they are there to hopefully keep you informed and make your meet run as smoothly as possible. Don’t be bashful about sharing all of this info with your team.

Several shout outs this week. Mountaire hosted their annual Swim Across America event and raised over $1500 for pediatric cancer research. Last week the Alpharetta Sharks and Glen Abbey Gators, swimmers collected towels and washcloths for the men of Gateway Center. Teams continue to do great things for their community, please feel free to share your good deeds with us so we can share them with the league.

Championship Meet Reminders

Heat Sheets - One thing missing from your team packs this year that would normally be included will be heat sheets. With this year’s meet and the advance entry deadline we will be e mailing teams a pdf version of the heat sheet, as well as post it on asa.swimtopia.com. TEAMS MUST PRINT THEIR OWN COPIES OF THE HEAT SHEET FOR THEIR OWN USE. Print as many as you want. We will NOT provide any heat sheets for teams this year, and they will not be on sale. As I mentioned, you can print your own for the price of FREE. In an effort to reflect any late entries or corrections, we will not send or post the heat sheets until about 36-48 hours before your session, so please don’t pester me about when you will get them. I will also make available entry lists including the heats and lanes for your swimmers for quick reference and to give you a chance to get a jump on getting heats and lanes on their bodies.

Parking

If recent meets are an indication, parking will likely be available in the W10 parking deck that is adjacent to the front entrance of the CRC. Parking in that deck will be via PREPAID PARKING ONLY, to purchase parking please visit https://gatech.parkmobile.io/events Parking costs will be between $12-15. This is the deck attached to the building. Overflow parking for W10 and any day of parking for those who did not prepay is located at the W23 lot at 905 State St. on Weds. – Fri. and in the W02 student center lot at 355 Ferst Dr on Saturday only. These are relatively short walks from the pool. That deck is a short walk to the building from there. ASA Championship Merchandise

ASA is proud to continue our partnership with Fine Designs Apparel. They will be providing ASA Championship t shirts and a much broader line of specially designed items for this year’s big meet. This will be a much broader offering than we have had in years past, so we hope you will support their offerings. They will be setting up an online shop for this year’s meet, and you can get a look at all of the products they have to offer. This is a great addition as it allows everyone on your team to purchase souvenirs from the meet, even if they can’t make the big meet, or they can make purchases even after the meet. Additionally, Fine Designs will be on site during the meet as well.

River Oak Photography

Limited reservation slots are available to capture the moments from the ASA Championship Meet your swimmers. Especially this year, please ensure your families know about this option, since many won't be onsite to watch or take their own photos this year.

River Oak Photography will be at the meet to capture it all....but only if you Pre Register! (due to COVID-19, there will be no reservations/sales during the competition!)
