2023 ASA Rules Meeting Recap and Recording Link - ASA Rules Attached

    April 19, 2023

    Teams,

Thank you for taking part in tonight's rules clinic, I hope you found it informative and helpful. The recording of the meeting can be found at ASA Rules Meeting Recording. A recap of the slide deck for the meeting can be found at ASA Rules Meeting Slide Deck view the 2023 ASA Rules please visit 2023 ASA Rules. Thanks to teams who participated in last week's Swimtopia webinar, for those of you who were not able to participate a recording of the meeting can be found at Swimtopia Webinar on Meet Entries Recording. Also included below are a number of reminders about the upcoming season and some to do list items for teams. Nothing new, but a good list of important items about this season.

    Recap of Recent Information

    2023 Schedule Now Complete

The ASA Schedule is now complete and official. This can be viewed at 2023 ASA Official Schedule. Meets highlighted in yellow are home meets. At that point we will pass it along to Swimtopia and they will upload it into each team's site to allow you to complete volunteer signups and your weekly meets. Now is the time to reach out to your opposing teams to open the lines of communication to coordinate your meet and work out the details.

Update Your Team Info and Age Up Date

Along those same lines, many of you have not yet updated your team information page. Please do so ASAP. Be sure your e mail and phone number is correct. This is how we stay in touch with each other and if your team's info is missing, you are doing a disservice to everyone.

Designating Reps, Coaches and Computer People - Designating People to Roles

(This ensures your team reps, coaches and computer people are in the communication loop with ASA). Please be sure your team reps, coaches and computer people are designated with the ASA linked roles to ensure they remain in the communications loop for this year.

Swimtopia recently sent us a summary of team page setups, including the age up date for your team in the system. Many of you have the wrong age up date and this needs to be corrected to accurately calculate your swimmer's ages for the season. The correct age up date is 5/31/23. Details on how to fix this can be found at Editing Your Age Up Date for the Season

    2023 ASA Championship Session Assignments

As promised, we have slotted teams into sessions for this year's ASA Championship meet. Those sessions can be found at 2023 ASA Championship Session Assignments. This is not official yet, so please don't share it with your families until we make it official early next week. We tried to accommodate as many team's date requests as possible and were for the most part successful to that end. However, there were a couple of sessions this was not possible for, particularly on Friday and Saturday. Otherwise, we tried to balance out the numbers as best we could to allow for enough room for everyone and sessions that won't run longer than 3.5 hours. If for some reason your team absolutely cannot swim your assigned session please let me know ASAP and I will try to move things around to help.
