Rules Proposal for 2024 and Ballot

We had one rules proposal for 2024. The idea is to have all of the relay events at the start of the meet. The sequence would be 6 and under Free Relays, All Medley Relays, All Remaining Free Relays, all remaining individual events in their existing order. You can view the meeting recording for the discussion, that topic comes up at about the 50 minute 30 second mark to hear some of the general overview of discussion. Also below are some of the comments from the chat during the meeting.

I, like having them start and finish. It splits relays into to our two different shifts.

It would also delay the 6 and under getting finished up since you’d put all those extra relays before their free style and backstroke events.

Kids love watching through to end to cheer on their coaches.

Relays are great at the beginning and end as currently structured.

I think relays at the end makes it exciting. Otherwise so many people will leave early it'll just be sad for those breaststrokers and butterfliers!

I think the poor 1st shift volunteers might quit if we start with all relays!

Relays at the start sounds extra draining for the kids that swim in the free relay, medley relay, and early individual events.

Please use the following link to submit your vote - ASA Rules Change Ballot

Please one vote per team. A majority of teams in the league must approve passage of this proposal for the change to be enacted.
