| 2026 ASA Schedule Now Official Plus Rules Clinic and Other
Reminders
April 8, 2026
Teams,
I hope this e mail finds you doing well, hopefully many of
you had a nice spring break and are getting ready for the summer. We are
excited about our upcoming season. I wanted to pass along some info and
reminders about upcoming league events and reminders about some things
your teams need to do now to be ready for the season.
2026 Schedule Now Complete
The ASA Schedule is now complete and official. This can be
viewed at 2026 ASA
Official Schedule.PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A DIFFERENT
SCHEDULE THAN WHAT WAS SENT EARLIER THIS WEEK. SOME TEAMS HAVE CHANGES TO
WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED. Changes to what was published last week
are highlighted in BLUE Meets highlighted in yellow are home meets. At that point
we will pass it along to Swimtopia and they will upload it into each
team's site to allow you to complete volunteer signups and your weekly
meets. This should be completed by the middle of this week.
Now is the time to reach out to your opposing teams to
open the lines of communication to coordinate your meet and work out the
details. If you change the date or location of your meet, please e
mail me ASAP with the details so I can update it on my end and make sure
your officials are in the loop.
Championship Session Assignments
The ASA Championship session assignments are now official.
We were able to get most teams into their requested day. Although we just
did not have enough room to allow everyone that wanted to swim on
Wednesday, especially Wednesday morning to make everyone's request
happen. Please refer to 2026 ASA Championship
Session Assignments . I have a little
wiggle room on these, but not much. We have tried to balance the numbers
as best we can to allow as many teams to have their team area on the
deck, as well as stay within the limits of what Georgia Tech will permit
us to have per session. If you have a situation that requires a session
change please contact me ASAP and I will do what I can to help.
Rules Proposals
If you recall there were 3 rules proposals that teams
voted on recently. We had two rules proposals for 2026. All 3 proposals
passed with a 90+ percent approval.
Rule Proposal 1 - No
tech suits can be worn at any dual meets for any swimmers, including
stitched suits. Tech suits and other racing suits will be
permitted at asa championships.
Rule Proposal 2 - Update the
rainout rule (Rule 22 on page 16 of the ASA rule book to manage
situations where 2 teams cannot align on a solution for a meet that
cannot be called based on the score of the meet or number of events
completed. The rule would now read
if no agreement can be reached for how to determine the outcome of a meet
for a meet that is unable to be called based on the number or events
completed or score of the meet, the meet shall be concluded
virtually. If teams are unable to arrange a virtual session the
results of their next meet will be used for the uncompleted
events. If this occurs in the final meet of the season, results from
each team’s most recent meet will be used.
Rule Proposal 3 - Establish a minimum
age, age 4, for swimmers to participate in ASA dual meets or the ASA
championship.
