2025 ASA Ribbon Pickup Options / Swimtopia Meet Maestro Webinar Reminder / Schedule Date Change Requests / Ref Requests

    April 30, 2025

    Teams,

I wanted to remind you about a couple of last items before we kick off the season in less than a month. Below are details on ribbon pickup (there are multiple options for this), the upcoming coaches rules clinics. Also included is a link to a form that will allow you to notify us about any further changes to the dates of your meets. Please review this information carefully as it pertains to all teams in the league.

    Ribbon Pickup

Teams will have several options for ribbon collection. Teams can pick them up next week's ribbon pickup/meet procedure meeting, your coaches can pick them up during one of the coaches meetings, or we can deliver them to you (for a fee). Please refer to the following form to select the option that best fits the needs of your team Ribbon Pickup Form .

Your ribbons will be ready for pickup beginning at 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 7 at the Marist School Aquatic Center. I will be at the pool until at least 8:00 pm. Marist has asked that we not come onto campus until then, due to school being in session. They have been gracious enough to provide us a central location for teams to swing by, please show your gratitude by following these instructions. Please do not try to come to Marist outside of the scheduled pickup times to collect your ribbons.

You may come by the upstairs lobby of the pool after that time to pick up your ribbons. Marist is located at 3790 Ashford Dunwoody Rd., the pool is at the back of campus. Please make sure to take the correct team box, there is a label sheet in the top of each box that lists the team name, as well as all of the contents of the box. Please check your box to make sure what is listed on your team's box is what is in the box. If your team received significantly fewer or more ribbons that what is listed on your box, e mail me and I will make arrangements to fix any goof ups on my part.

If your team cannot come pick up ribbons on that date, teams may also pick up their ribbons during either of the coaches meetings on May 18 or May 25, or have them delivered (for a fee). Please make your choice via the form link listed above

2025 May Ribbon Distribution and Meet Procedure Review - Weds. May 7 at 7 pm at Marist Teams can pick up their ribbons for the season on this date. This meeting will be in person and is specifically designed to walk teams through the process of running a swim meet. We will cover an in depth review of all of the jobs involved in running a swim meet and the process flow of how all of these jobs interact amongst each other.

    Coaches’ Meeting/Rules Clinic

Please remember, coaches are required to attend one of the two mandatory coaches’ meetings on either Sunday, May 18 or May 25. At least one member of your coaching staff must attend one of the rules meetings or your team is subject to a fine from the league. If they participated in the April rules Zoom meeting they have met this requirement and do not have to attend one of the May meetings. Both meetings will have a virtual option (as well as in person). Both meetings will be available in person at the Marist pool at 3790 Ashford Dunwoody Rd. The zoom link for the meetings are as follows

I strongly encourage teams to send as many of their coaches as possible to the meeting though, as it covers a great deal of pertinent info on the league and this season.

    Meet Schedule Updates/Changes

If your team has agreed to change the date of your meet, please update the league by using the link Meet Change Request to notify us the new date of your meet. This will allow us to ensure your meet has an official for the correct date.

Please notify the league of any changes to your schedule NO LATER THAN Monday, May 13.

    Referees Still Needed

We are still looking for 5-10 referees per week to help cover our Thursday night meets. Please take a minute to read the details of refereeing below and see if there are some weeks that you might be able to step in and help on the Thursday meets, and make a little money and watch other coaches stressed out for a change!!! If you have some mature, responsible assistant coaches, please feel free to forward this along to them as well.

We are working to lock in our referee schedule by the end of the weekend, so please submit your interest to the Google Form by Friday.

Please feel free to send this information to any of your friends, colleagues or folks who may have been out of swimming for a few years, but are back in town or looking for some supplemental income and a way to support our sport. Last summer, we were very tight on total number of referees, especially in the Cherokee County area -- so any referrals and recommendations is always appreciated. If you have flexibility in your schedule in June – Thursday evenings are great nights to be available to referee!
